As I approach the end of my junior year of college, I felt it would be necessary to reflect on my year. This year has been a lot of fun for me, and I had a lot of great experiences. I took a lot of classes that I found very interesting, including a class about sports sales, where I was a top five seller in my class for Cleveland Cavaliers tickets. This gave me the opportunity to get a photo op on the court before the game started, which is something I've never done before. I also was blessed with the opportunity to intern at the National Sports Forum in Pittsburgh, PA, which was a great conference where I made some great connections. I was able to get a behind-the-scenes look at how events like that are run, which gave me a lot of insight on how the sports world operates. I look forward to returning next year for the conference in Boston. On the fraternity side, we inducted ten new brothers into our fraternity, and getting to know those guys has been an awesome experience for me, and I can't wait to see them grow into leaders before my departure. Through our hard work as a brotherhood, we were able to repeat as Fraternity of the Year for Mount, which made me very proud of all my brothers. Overall, this has been a year full of new experiences for me, and I am excited to see what the future holds for my final year of school.

In previous blog posts, I have discussed a little bit about how I am involved in a fraternity at the University of Mount Union. I officially became a brother right before the end of the first semester of my freshman year, so I have been an active member for about two and a half years. Joining Sigma Nu has easily been the best decision I've made in my college career, as it has allowed me the opportunity to live with twenty of my best friends. I also get the opportunity to attend leadership seminars, socialize with other campus organizations, and serve my community. Recently, our fraternity held our annual philanthropy: the 39th annual Mike Hardy Memorial Basketball tournament, named after a brother who sadly passed away in the late 1980s. As alumni chairman, I worked closely with our philanthropy chairman to organize the entire tournament, since it is the largest alumni event we host each year. The event was a great success and we had people from all over campus attend and play in the tournament. Everyone involved had a great time, and I am proud of the work that not only I did, but also the work that the entire brotherhood did in order to ensure that the tournament ran successfully.
As a college student, balance is something a lot of people experience problems with. Trying to find a correct balance between work, school, and a social life can be difficult at first, and it took me a while to figure out the correct balance. After my first semester of college, I had joined a fraternity, which gave me more on my plate now that I had an extracurricular. Through time and advice from my brothers, I found a balance that worked for me. Every day, I go to class and work out in the gym. I then take some time for myself to eat and shower, then I will do my homework if I have any, and for me this has always worked. After I finish my work for the day, I have time left in the day to do whatever I need/want to, which serves as motivation to keep doing my work so I never fall behind. It may take some time and a bit of trial and error, but everyone can find their own unique balance that works best for them.
From February 25th to 29th, I had the great opportunity to attend the National Sports Forum as an intern. My duties included setting up and breaking down signage, directing attendees to meetings, helping run a booth at the trade show, and helping people register for the event. The event took place in Pittsburgh, and the venue was really nice. I also got the chance to tour Acrisure Stadium and PNC Park for the first time, which was a great experience. I am very grateful for the opportunity presented to me by the University of Mount Union and the Sport Business professors: Dr. Kadlecek, Dr. Braa, and Dr. Augustin and look forward to being able to attend next year's conference.
